A Door to do the Chore

I love old vintage doors. I was able to talk my hubby into buying one for me after looking days for a good deal I was able to find a door for $40.00 which was not to bad considering the great usage we are now getting out of it!
We took this old door and made it into...

a distressed/vintage coffee table and an end table..

We just sawed the top of the door off. Thanks to my Dad's handy tools and help I was able to do this in just 4 days. Tay and I really loved how it turned out! The color is a bit dull because I took these photos with my phone. (We sold our camera to get a more simpler camera and so in the mean time we get to enjoy these dull looking pictures)

Building these two pieces of furniture was a lot of work but totally worth it! I love taking old or used things and making them into something functional.
We are now in the process of finding a new rug and fabric to make couch pillows to go with our new furniture. When I get the whole look put together I will post more pictures:)

So do you still love him?

Well yes, I do.

Yesterday was our anniversary.
We have been married for 2 years! We still have so many years ahead of us, I am excited!
Marriage has taught me a lot about myself and also more about Tay. We have had our differences along the way but I have come to learn our core values are the same and that is what is the most important. I am glad we were able to enjoy two years with no children, I feel blessed we had that time with just us.

To celebrate our wedding day we made each other's favorite breakfast for one another.
He made me whole wheat crepes with fruit and I made him waffles.
We just relaxed and had a nice morning together.
In the evening we actually went fabric shopping for pillows (I am trying to find the right fabric for our couch pillows) It was actually Tay's Idea to go fabric shopping he has an eye for good looking things. He knows exactly what I am looking for. We then went to dinner at this awesome Chinese place in Millcreek area and then enjoyed an evening at home together.
This weekend we have free reward points to stay in a hotel in Park City so we are going to really celebrate this weekend and stay at the same hotel we did our wedding night! So that should be snazzy.

Here we are gazing into each others eyes, full of love and all that other good stuff.

oh the happy moments..(sorry I am feeling kind of cheesy right now)..

Next post will be awesome so stay tune!
